Melody please look at the facts that Joanne wrote and they are true and by the way this country was built on people having different religions with out persecution NOT just one. This is why our constitution has freedom of religion. You talk so bad about Muslims but did you realize that there are Muslims in our arm services fighting for your freedom right now? look at meet the press when Collen Powll was on the show who is a Republican! If you feel like you want to be involve take a history class a government class get facts before you state your opinion. I'm not trying to insult you by saying that I just feel sorry for you, ignorance hurts us all. I wish you the best and I prey you get enlighten from all the replies....

Ms. Moore, your comments underscore the sheer ignorance and blind faith by which McCain/Palin supporters live and die. Barak Obama is not Muslim, nor is he a terrorist. (By the way, these two descriptors are not mutually inclusive.) John McCain did serve our country, and good for him, but that does not mean that does not unequivocally qualify him to lead our nation, nor does it make him a "good person". He has flip-flopped on critical issues time and time again and doesn't seem to be able to tell us what he will do were he elected. I would just once like to hear him lay out his plans for our economy without slamming his opponent. I don't need to hear his opinions on Sen. Obama to understand his plans for our economy. Unfortunately, it's still not clear what he would do were he elected to the presidency, as he spends the bulk of his time slandering Sen. Obama.
The comment he made regarding allowing military veterans to teach school "without additional schooling" is truly frightening. Please don't get me wrong - I respect and thank God for each and every solider serving our country. This does not mean that every one of them is qualified to teach my son what he needs to learn to excel academically. To make such a blanket statement is indicative of Sen. McCain's true lack of understanding around what the American people really need and want; a leader who truly connects and understands what we ("main street, America") go through on a daily basis and what will TRULY help us realize the "American dream" to which he so often refers. John McCain has never had to make the choice on whether to pay the electric bill or buy enough gas to get himself to and from work until the next payday - or whether or not he can afford nutritious food for his family as opposed to living off raman noodles and powdered milk. Barak Obama understands these troubles, thus is more likely to make wise choices for those of us who struggle with them daily.
On that note, I ask you one final question - what if backgrounds were reversed? How would you feel about Sen. McCain then?
Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: what if things were switched around? Would the country's collective point of view be different?
Ponder the following:
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including
a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter? What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his
standards? What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

McCain has sold his Dignity for the sake of winning this election at any cost! We as a country are up to our neck in debt today! And all McCain can say is that he will continue the same craziness as the last eight years. Its time to pass the torch, stop the whining about yesteryear! McCain has become erratic and that is not what this country needs today! He is not the leader he sees in the mirror! And yes we all love our Country that is why Obams will "WIN" and so will "WE"!

melodymoore,
I am a 23 yr vet who served in every conflictsince 1982. I joined because of the great president we had in Ronald Reagan. I was a republican until the party was hijacked by the neo-cons/carl rove. Do you even realize the the GOP was founded by Abraham Lincoln? Read the book, "Lincoln". I once respected Senator McCain, but he is getting all he deserves for abandoning his core principles in his last gasp to achieve the highest office. The last 8 -years are a disaster! What happened to the WMDs? Now the excuse is the front on the war against terrorism is Iraq? WAKE UP! It's Afganistan and the Pakistani Border! Obama's right, if we get Bin Laden in our sights and he's being sheltered in Pakistan (by the Pakistani Intelligence Services) then we absolutly need to take him out just as Senator Obama said. Intersting how McCain refused to do so, just a "W" has for the past 8-years. Oh, I think we have all damed our gov a few times, but regardless of the immediate emotional state, deep down love our country no matter what. GOD BLESS and GOD SAVE AMERICA!
